December 3, 2017

Dear Friends,

What a beautiful, inspiring Sunday awaits us on December 3!

Our Advent Festival of building community and blessing the world begins at 9:45am up in Celebration Hall.

Worship at 11am in the sanctuary is centered in...

our Lighting of the First Advent Candle with Children and Youth,

two gorgeous, festive anthems by the Chancel Choir, conducted by Lee Wright,

joyous Advent and Christmas carols,

Jason Cloen as liturgist reading Mary Oliver's "Why I Wake Early,"

and our Communion meditation and celebration rooted in Mark 13:33-37, a passage I am eager to preach on, as I find it so deeply encouraging and delightful.

The Advent Festival resumes at 12:15 with delicious lunch (free!) in the Dining Room next to Celebration Hall, and continues through the early afternoon.

Sunday School and Youth Group will be in full swing!

(There is no Sunday Forum or Meditation this Sunday).

Advent blessings of peace, hope, and love to all,

The Rev. Dr. Pat Youngdahl, Pastor
Downtown Presbyterian Church
